BHAAAS Member Dr. Tijana Tufek Memišević at the World Urban Forum in Cairo

Last week, Cairo hosted the 12th World Urban Forum (WUF12), one of the most significant global events focused on the challenges of urban development.

The theme of the forum, "It All Begins at Home: Local Responses for Sustainable Cities and Communities," brought together over 35,000 participants from around the world, including experts, policymakers, activists, educators, decision-makers, and government representatives.

Dr. Tijana Tufek-Memišević, Head of the Sustainable Development Program at the Bosnian-Herzegovinian-American Academy of Arts and Sciences (BHAAAS), actively participated in discussions, panels, and workshops as the coordinator of the ISOCARP international delegation. During the event, Dr. Tufek-Memišević also appeared on the Egyptian television channel NILE TV International, where she highlighted the importance of organizing such events in cities like Cairo, where the challenges and opportunities of sustainable urban development can be experienced firsthand.
