For years, the Medicine and Health Division of the Bosnian Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences has been a strong network of medical professionals engaged in an exciting exchange of knowledge and experiences. Our members cultivate professional connection, promote medical professional advancement and advocate for health system improvement and access.
Days of BHAAAS conferences are organized every year in Bosnia & Herzegovina. One of the most significant events of BHAAAS Days is the “International Medical Symposia”. This event brings together distinguished medical experts from the region and around the world. BHAAAS Days offer a unique opportunity to connect with these medical professionals.
As a part of year-round activities, the the Medicine and Health Division initiated and developed various health and medicine-related projects, including our web platforms such as "Znanjem do zdravlja", "Web Medical Archives" and „Oftalmologijabih.ba“. These platforms are designed to educate medical professionals and improve the health and well-being of citizens. Comprehensive and up-to-date information is encouraging our citizens to take an active role in promoting their health.
Our division has launched a mentorship program for medical students, and we are collaborating with them on several projects. The BHAAAS Medical Student Symposium has been widely recognized as a great platform for medical students and young researchers to showcase their work, compete with peers, and receive valuable feedback.
The Bosnian Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences played an active role in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the beginning, BHAAAS mobilized its eminent experts and launched a highly successful telecommunication project in collaboration with regional experts and supported hospitals in ex-Yugoslavia. Additionally, the academy introduced a popular series of educational videos called "60 Seconds About the Corona." These videos aimed to explain basic scientific concepts, facts, and discoveries related to the COVID-19 pandemic to the public.
The Medicine and Health Division of BHAAAS promots collaborations with various institutions in Bosnia & Herzegovina. To further strengthen our partnerships, we aim to develop innovative approaches to address common health challenges by working together and learning from each other's experiences.
The practice of medicine and healthcare industry are constantly evolving due to research and technological advancements. The Medicine and Health Division is dedicated to fostering and promoting future technological innovations. Furthermore, we maintain close collaboration with the BHAAAS Technical & Natural Science, Humanities, Social Science & Arts, and Sustainable Development program to achieve our goals.
