To become a member of BHAAAS, the following steps should be taken:
Applications for membership will be considered twice a year, in January and July. Therefore, the deadlines for applying are December 31st and June 30th. New members who are accepted in January are required to pay the full membership fee for that year, while those accepted in July will have to pay half of the membership fee. Payment of the membership fee is necessary to complete the process of accepting new members to BHAAAS. International and honorary members do not pay membership fees.

- Bosnian-Herzegovinian origin;
- Citizenship or permanent residence in the USA or Canada;
- Higher education/graduate degree, with the exception of candidates from non-scientific fields;
- Devotion to BHAAAS principles, its mission, and vision;
- Devotion to the idea of a multinational, democratic Bosnia and Herzegovina;
- Respect for the highest ethical and moral standards, including principles related to the free exchange of ideas and opinions.
Admission Criteria
1. Full member:
- Bosnian-Herzegovinian origin;
- Citizenship or permanent residence in the USA or Canada;
- PhD or equivalent, with the exception of candidates from culture, art, journalism, and other non-scientific fields;
- Prominent professional presence (published books, articles, scientific and professional papers, concerts, exhibitions, patents, critical recognition, etc.) in their own field;
- Notable activity within the Bosnian-Herzegovinian community.
2. Associate Member:
- Bosnian-Herzegovinian origin;
- Citizenship or permanent residence in the USA or Canada;
- Master's degree or equivalent, with the exception of candidates from culture, art, journalism, and other non-scientific fields;
- Prominent activity, as well as length of presence, in their professional field;
- Significant activity within the Bosnian-Herzegovinian community.
3. Corresponding Member:
- Candidates do not meet the requirement of permanent residence in the USA/Canada but meet the requirement of Bosnian-Herzegovinian origin;
- PhD/equivalent or Master's/equivalent, with the exception of candidates from culture, art, journalism, and other non-scientific fields;
- Prominent contribution to the Bosnian-Herzegovinian community, science, and culture in BiH or the BiH diaspora in the country of residence.
4. International Member:
- The candidate meets the conditions and criteria for Full or Associate, except that they do not live in North America, nor are they of Bosnian-Herzegovinian origin;
- The candidate distinguishes themselves with activities related to the well-being of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian community, both in the country of residence and abroad.
5. Honorary Member:
- Candidates do not meet the conditions and criteria for other membership categories but have distinguished themselves through previous work related to the well-being of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian community in North America or the country of residence.
- The application for their candidacy is submitted by a member of BHAAAS.
6. Candidate Member:
- Candidates are in the process of higher education in the USA or Canada, and by completing the process, they will meet the requirements and criteria for regular or associate membership; (the time limit for the candidate category is a minimum of one (1) and a maximum of seven (7) years);
- The candidate has a university degree.
If a BHAAAS member becomes eligible for a change in membership category (eg from Candidate to Associate; from Associate to Full Member), the member can submit an application to move to a higher membership category.

Associate members $75.00 annually
Corresponding members 50 KM or $30 annually, for those living in Bosnia and Herzegovina $75 annually, for those living elsewhere

Information for Prospective Members and Sponsors
BHAAAS and B&H Political Engagement
BHAAAS is a nonpolitical organization and it is not engaged in political processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina (B&H). In the United States, BHAAAS is registered as a 502(c)(3) nonprofit organization for education purposes and, as such, cannot support any political party or candidate.
Membership in BHAAAS does not exclude potential members who are politically engaged in various political organizations in B&H, or in its government. As long as such candidates adhere to BHAAAS' principles, its mission and vision, they are welcome to apply for membership. Their applications will be evaluated in the same manner as those of other applicants.
However, it is imperative to understand that BHAAAS' name or logo cannot be used for political purposes and that this organization cannot be used, nor manipulated, for anyone's political purposes.
BHAAAS is a nonprofit organization of volunteers who are professionally engaged in various sponsorship processes that are solely used to finance BHAAAS scientific meetings and events, and cover the costs of professionals coordinating those events.
BHAAAS sponsors can be various government or private entities, but they cannot use BHAAAS name or logo on their websites and in organizational materials outside of what is defined in respective sponsorship packages.
