The Ophthalmology Congress, held as part of the 17th Day of BHAAAS, brought together outstanding domestic and international experts and confirmed the high professional and European level of this year's program.
At the end of the symposium, an award ceremony was held for the best papers in the competition of young ophthalmologists. A five-member jury, consisting of university professors from the University College of Sarajevo, Tuzla and Zenica, as well as experts from London and Zagreb, evaluated the works according to several criteria, including scientific value, originality, clinical significance and innovativeness of the work.
The first prize was won by Dr. Hajrija Pleh, a resident of the Goražde Cantonal Hospital. Although the jury's decision was demanding, as all presented works were innovative and original, her work was recognized as a particularly valuable contribution to science and ophthalmology practice.
Thanks to the platinum sponsor, the company MES from Zenica, the first prize includes a trip to the surgical wet-lab in Prague, with accommodation and transportation expenses paid. Such awards are extremely important for young ophthalmologists, as they enable them to practice microsurgical techniques on artificial eyes, which represents an important step in the development of precise and demanding surgical skills.
Other participants were awarded professional ophthalmology books, as support for their further learning, work and professional development.
We congratulate Dr. Hajrija Pleh, all young ophthalmologists who presented their works, jury members, lecturers, participants and partners who contributed to the success of this program.
The 17th BHAAAS days once again confirmed the importance of supporting young professionals, exchanging knowledge and creating opportunities for professional development.
