Organized by the Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Association for the Advancement of Science and Technology this weekend, at the Life at ZIRA company headquarters in Sarajevo, a Hackathon was held with the theme of Applying AI to specific problems related to the BH academic directory. The jury consisting of prof. Almir Karabegović (BHAAAS), Suad Krilašević, Zlatan Ajanović and Hamza Merzić (ANNT) chose the three most successful teams, which were awarded valuable prizes. Students expressed their interest in continuing cooperation with BHAAAS and ANNT through the BH Academic Directory project. In addition to networking and familiarization with problems from practice, an additional benefit of the Hackathon was the online lectures of BHAAAS members: DiaWorks session lecture by Zlatan Akšamija (University of Utah). "Applications of AI in scientific discovery" and the lecture "Trustworthy AI" by Namik Hrle, IBM Fellow and Vice President of Development in IBM's Data and Artificial Intelligence Division. This was an extraordinary opportunity for students to demonstrate their skills, gain recognition, but also to contribute to solutions that will improve the efficiency, security and management of information available to the BH academic directory.
