The new leadership of the Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons of Bosnia and Herzegovina was confirmed during the 17th BHAAAS Days

As part of the 17th Day of BHAAAS, a meeting of the Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons of Bosnia and Herzegovina was held, where the new management was officially confirmed and the next steps in the work of the Association were defined.

dr. Mahira Tanovic, MD, plastic and reconstructive surgeon with more than twenty years of professional experience in New York, member and former president of BHAAAS, was appointed president of the National Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons of Bosnia and Herzegovina - the first professional organization of its kind at the state level.

This appointment represents an important step in strengthening professional standards, professional networking and improving patient safety in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As an associate professor of clinical surgery at the Hofstra University School of Medicine in New York and the owner of a private practice on Park Avenue, Dr. Tanović has been connecting medical excellence, education and international cooperation with her work for years.

The new management of the Association aims to reactivate its work, gather experts from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the diaspora, and create a strong platform for knowledge exchange, mentoring and professional support.

"The role of us who live and work abroad is to open the way for young people, so that they know who they can turn to and how they can connect with colleagues and institutions around the world," said Dr. Tanović.
