The BHAAAS Mentoring Program for Medical Students has provided outstanding experiences for mentors who have had the opportunity to provide support and advice to young future doctors. Their expertise and commitment to improving the education and professional development of students proved to be key to the success of this Program.

"The BHAAAS mentoring program is a unique opportunity for medical students to talk to their mentors one-on-one about those aspects of medical science and practice that may be difficult parts of their medical training to master or areas that are not fully covered in regular lectures," said Dr. Srđan Nikolovski, one of the mentors, adding the importance of practical examples shared by the mentors, which greatly contributes to improving self-confidence in the daily engagement of students.

"It's always motivating to meet and work with young enthusiasts who are ready to learn something new and better themselves," emphasized dr. Emir Halilbašić.

Significant mentoring experience was also expressed by dr. Lejla Hadžikadić-Gušić, pointing out that new, great ideas often arise in communication, evaluating this engagement as equally useful for the mentors themselves.

"Mentoring medical students is rewarding on many levels. It allows me to share my experience and knowledge, contribute to their professional development, foster a passion for medicine, and build lasting connections within the medical community. It is fulfilling to see them develop into skilled and compassionate healthcare professionals" – said Dr. Azra Ajkunić.

BHAAAS invites all members who want to share their knowledge with young future doctors to join as mentors. If you are a BHAAAS member and want to support the education of younger generations, this is your chance to make a lasting impact.

We also invite students to apply for the new edition of the mentoring program by the end of August. Don't miss the opportunity to participate in this outstanding program that can change your life and career.
