As part of the medical program of the 17th Days of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences, which will be held from June 4 to 7, 2026, in Sarajevo, a special place is reserved for the International Regenerative Medicine in Plastic Surgery Symposium. This is one of a total of 16 medical symposia taking place during this year’s BHAAAS Days, through which Sarajevo is positioning itself as an important center for professional exchange, international cooperation, and the transfer of contemporary medical knowledge.
Following the successful Plastic Surgery Symposium held during the 15th BHAAAS Days, Sarajevo will once again welcome eminent experts in the fields of plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery. This year’s symposium will again be held under the leadership of Dr. Mahira Tanović, a specialist in plastic, reconstructive, and hand surgery, certified by the American Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Hand Surgery, with many years of clinical and academic experience in New York, USA. Through her professional reputation, international experience, and dedication to BHAAAS, Dr. Tanović is once again bringing a team of top experts to Sarajevo, further confirming the importance of connections between Bosnian-Herzegovinian experts around the world and the local medical community for the development of modern medicine in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The symposium dedicated to regenerative medicine in plastic surgery will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel in Sarajevo, and will bring together distinguished experts in the fields of plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, regenerative medicine, anti-aging medicine, breast surgery, rhinoplasty, burn treatment, safety in surgical practice, and modern minimally invasive procedures.
The program will cover a wide range of contemporary topics, from the use of PRP and fat tissue in regenerative aesthetic practice, reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery, facelift and facial rejuvenation, to advanced approaches in rhinoplasty, laser procedures, burn treatment, and risk management in plastic surgery. Special emphasis will be placed on patient safety, an interdisciplinary approach, and the application of new technologies and biological methods in clinical practice.
