The Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees, with the financial support of the Government of Switzerland, today launched the first interactive portal for the diaspora from Bosnia and Herzegovina www.dijaspora.mhrr.gov.ba "The primary goal of this portal is not just the publication of information but the creation of a platform for two-way communication between BiH and its emigration," said BiH Minister of Human Rights and Refugees Semiha Borovac at today's promotion of the portal. In addition to news, documents, and projects of interest to the BiH diaspora, the portal will, as he says, publish public invitations and business opportunities, but emigrants will also be allowed to participate in the creation of public policies under the jurisdiction of the Ministry and other institutions. In the world, it is of particular importance for the diaspora, as pointed out by the President of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Nirvana Pištoljević, that the portal offers the possibility to have all the laws that must be complied with when registering a company in Bosnia and Herzegovina available in one place. Emigrants, she explains, do not understand or find it difficult to navigate the very complicated administration, so every content of this portal is of exceptional value. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, Andrea Rauber Saxer invited the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina who live in and outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina to actively use this portal and share their ideas and expertise in a specific professional field. "The BiH diaspora represents a source and wealth of information, skills, and values that can be useful to their homeland. 60,000 people are living in Switzerland who are originally from BiH. Many of them are already interested in supporting their homeland," said the Swiss ambassador to BiH. The portal was created within the project "Diaspora for Development," which is a project of the Government of Switzerland and the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees in partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
