The First Student Biology Conference in Tuzla and the Announcement of Its Second Edition

At the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, University of Tuzla, the First Student Biology Conference was ceremonially opened last year—an event that brought together young researchers, ideas, and a shared passion for science in one place.

The conference was held as part of the 16th Days of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences (BHAAAS), as well as the jubilee 30th Summer University in Tuzla, further emphasizing its importance and international character.

Students presented their research from various fields of biology, using modern methods and scientific approaches, demonstrating the knowledge, creativity, and research potential shaping the future of science.

The conference was further enriched by inspiring lectures from distinguished experts:
Dr. Ljiljana Đukanović from Portugal,
Prof. Dr. Đenita Hadžiabdić Guerry from the University of Tennessee,
and Prof. Dr. Senad Divanović from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.

On the first day, a professional jury evaluated the presentations, already recognizing the exceptional dedication and quality of the students’ research.

The second day continued with the competitive segment, featuring new presentations, an educational Kahoot quiz, and engaging lectures, and concluded with a formal ceremony awarding certificates, prizes, and acknowledgments.
