Second Congress of BH Doctors in Berlin: Connecting the Medical Diaspora and the Homeland through Collaboration, Science, and Humanity

On Saturday, June 14, 2025, the Second Congress of Bosnian-Herzegovinian Doctors in Germany was successfully held in Berlin. The event brought together numerous medical professionals of Bosnian origin who now work across the globe from Germany, the USA, and Croatia, all the way to their homeland.

Sarajevo will host the 5th International Ophthalmology Symposium titled “Cornea, Ocular Surface and Refractive Surgery” on June 21–22, 2025. The symposium is organized in collaboration with the Turkish Ophthalmological Association (TOA) and offers a rich educational program featuring six speakers from TOA’s Cornea and Ocular Surface Section.

A Groundbreaking Step in the Fight Against Breast Cancer: Establishing the First Senological Society in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Bosnia and Herzegovina will soon establish its first specialized society dedicated to breast cancer—SIS Bosnia and Herzegovina, the national branch of the global organization Senological International Society (SIS)—marking a new chapter in oncology and women's healthcare in the country. SIS is a worldwide federation bringing together more than one hundred scientific and professional societies, associations, and groups from all five continents, with a core mission focused on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of breast diseases. This initiative is the result of the dedicated work of Dr. Lejla Hadžikadić Gušić, a prominent oncologic surgeon at the Levine Cancer Institute in Charlotte, USA, and a member of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences (BHAAAS).
