Music helps me be a better psychiatrist Clinical director of the Psychiatric Department of the American Providence Hospital in Washington, Sarajevo war surgeon Asim Haračić recently recorded his second CD, Deserter. He says that he got inspiration from reading Sarajevo Blues, the poetry of Semezdin Mehmedinović. His collection of Bosnian sevdalinka, Spanish melos, and American tones seems to open old emotional wounds and unresolved pain, and this is where Haračić's music begins to heal.
