BHAAAS and Ismar Volić in Mostar: Inspirational Workshops for Education Advancement

At the beginning of 2025, Mostar hosted a series of workshops organized by UWC Mostar, the Center for Professional Development.

One of the highlights was a two-day workshop titled "Monitoring and Evaluation of Student Achievements," held on January 4 and 5, 2025, at UWC Mostar. The workshop gathered a large number of high school mathematics teachers from across Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The speaker was the distinguished BHAAAS member, Professor Ismar Volić from Wellesley College, who shared his expertise and insights with an interactive approach. Professor Volić, known for his work in algebraic topology and as the founder of the Institute for Mathematics and Democracy, shared his vast experience gained through over 200 lectures worldwide. His interdisciplinary approach demonstrated how mathematics and democracy can collectively contribute to societal development.

Participants expressed satisfaction with the workshop's content, emphasizing its practical application in education. Organizers highlighted that such events are crucial for improving teaching methods and strengthening professional development for educators.

The workshop series will continue as part of the 16th Annual BHAAAS Days, scheduled from June 19 to 23, 2025, with the aim of advancing education and professional development for high school mathematics teachers in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
