BHAAAS Experts Bring Advanced Medical Practices to BiH: Visit of Dr. Azra Sadiković and the Team from the USA

As part of the program “Transfer of Knowledge from Diaspora Experts to Bosnia and Herzegovina,” organized by the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH, a team of top medical specialists from the United States is currently in Sarajevo, led by BHAAAS Vice President Dr. Azra Sadiković, specialist in gynecology and subspecialist in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.

This year, at the “Prim. Dr. Abdulah Nakaš” General Hospital and the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics of KCUS, Dr. Sadiković and her colleagues from the USA—Dr. Juraj Letko and Dr. Kayla Nixon Marshal—are supervising advanced gynecologic and urogynecologic laparoscopic procedures, while exchanging knowledge and experience with local medical teams.

During the visit, they will also hold professional lectures in the field of endoscopic surgery and provide recommendations for improving hospital protocols. In this way, BHAAAS and its members continue their mission of strengthening the healthcare system of Bosnia and Herzegovina through collaboration, education, and direct clinical work.

The Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences (BHAAAS) plays a key role in connecting diaspora experts with healthcare institutions in BiH. Through its programs and network of members, BHAAAS has for years enabled modern medical practices, expertise, and knowledge from leading healthcare centers around the world to reach domestic hospitals. The knowledge-transfer programs supported by BHAAAS have already been implemented in several healthcare institutions in BiH, including UKC Tuzla, where diaspora experts held lectures, performed complex surgeries, and provided recommendations for improving clinical protocols.
