At the Linnovate Business Park in Livno, as part of the USAID Diaspora Invest project, with BHAAAS as the main partner, a technical workshop titled "Advanced Technologies for Hardware and Lithium-Ion Batteries: Safety, Automation, and Innovation" was held. The workshop was led by Nermin Osmanović, a member of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences (BHAAAS) and an experienced engineer with over 20 years of expertise in the hardware technology industry.
The workshop brought together local business representatives and individuals interested in advanced technologies, particularly in the fields of battery system safety and automation of manufacturing processes. During his presentation, Osmanović provided participants with detailed insights into the design and testing of lithium-ion batteries, as well as ways to improve manufacturing processes and enhance safety in battery pack design. Special emphasis was placed on the application of automation and robotics solutions in production, which are crucial for modernizing industries, especially in smaller towns like Livno.
Currently based in Austin, Texas, Nermin Osmanović emphasized the importance of aligning local manufacturing capacities with modern industrial standards. "It is a pleasure to be part of this important process in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where we can transfer our knowledge and experience to help local businesses move towards innovation and the modernization of production," Osmanović said.
The Livno workshop is part of a larger initiative by BHAAAS and the USAID Diaspora Invest project, aimed at connecting local companies with diaspora experts. BHAAAS continuously organizes similar events across Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a special focus on smaller communities, to enhance business capacities through the transfer of knowledge and experience.
Workshop participants had the opportunity for direct consultations with Osmanović, providing an excellent opportunity for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises to familiarize themselves with modern methods and technologies that could improve their production processes and safety.
This workshop is just one of many efforts by BHAAAS and USAID to support the development of industry in Bosnia and Herzegovina by strengthening the competitiveness and sustainable growth of local businesses, through the application of innovations and technological solutions that meet global standards. As part of the Diaspora Invest project, BHAAAS advocates for connecting local companies with the diaspora, which contributes to the development of business capacities and strengthens ties between Bosnia and Herzegovina and its diaspora playing a crucial role in the development of new technologies and innovations in the country.
