He started from Sarajevo, where he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine as the best student in his class, and today he is among the most respected American neurosurgeons. He received his master's degree in neurosurgery and defended his doctoral thesis at the University of Josip Juraj Strossmayer in Osijek, and then completed his first specialization at the University of Applied Sciences in Sarajevo and the second at the University of Arkansas in the USA. For 20 years he has worked at the Semmes Murphey Clinic in Memphis and teaches neurosurgery and neurology at the University of Tennessee. He is the director of the committee of the World Association of Neurosurgeons based in Prague. All that, and he started from Sarajevo.
