EXCLUSIVE: Doctor Kenan Arnautović elected vice-president of the World Federation of Neurosurgeons

The 18th World Congress of Neurosurgery is currently being held in Cape Town, South Africa. Doctor Kenan Arnautović won almost 70 percent of the votes, and thus he was elected vice president of the World Federation of Neurosurgeons (World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies – WFNS). At this congress, 198 delegates from 136 countries voted for the leaders of the World Federation of Neurosurgeons, and the newly elected president is Dr. Luis Borba from Brazil. WFNS WFNS[/caption] He was born in 1960 in Sarajevo. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Sarajevo as the best student of his generation. He completed his first specialization in neurosurgery in Sarajevo and Hanover and the second at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. His mentor was Dr. Al-Mefty himself. In 1994, he went to the United States of America for another specialization. Since 2002, he has been working at the Semmes-Murphey Clinic and teaches neurosurgery at the University of Tennessee in Memphis.
