Exhibition "Unfolding Elsewheres" by Velibor Božović

The exhibition "Unfolding Elsewheres" by Velibor Božović, a member of BHAAAS, will be opened on June 7, 2024 at 8:00 p.m. in Manifesto Gallery, at Despićeva 3 in Sarajevo.

This exhibition presents the art project of the same name, which includes sound works (Listening series, 2023), visual works (Listening, How Did You Get Here, 2016-2023), and the video work My Prisoner (2016). It is dedicated to the phenomena of memory, listening and displacement, opening space for deep reflections and new understanding.

In addition, the exhibition will also be the occasion for the Sarajevo iteration of Radio Elsewheres, a temporary, participatory and experimental low-frequency radio, which will be broadcast from the Kuma International Center for Art in Post-Conflict Societies and online.

Velibor Božović, born in Sarajevo, began his art journey in the circumstances of the war zone, which shaped his vision and creativity. After the experience of the siege of Sarajevo, he moved to Montreal, where he abandoned his engineering career to devote himself to painting research. Today he is a professor at Concordia University, and his works have received recognition and support around the world.

The exhibition will be open until June 28, 2024. and as part of the 15th Days of BHAAAS, conference participants will have the opportunity to meet the artist on June 22, from 18:30 to 20:00 and see the exhibition at the specified location.
