A panel discussion was held on the future of young doctors in Bosnia and Herzegovina

COOPERATION OF THE AMERICAN EMBASSY IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA AND THE UNSA FACULTY OF MEDICINE On February 2, 2017, the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Sarajevo organized a panel discussion under the title "The Future of young doctors—how to retain young doctors in Bosnia and Herzegovina?". The gathering was held before the opening of the 3rd International Congress of Medical Students and Young Doctors, "SaMED 2017." The panel discussion was opened by Prof. Ph.D. Almira Hadžović-Džuvo, dean of the Faculty of Medicine of UNSA, and all present students took an active part in the discussion, and presented their visions of the future, of young doctors, after completing their studies. A second-year student of the study program in English, Adem Čemerlić, an American citizen, presented his impressions and experience during his studies in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This important event was attended by representatives of the American Embassy in BiH: Lillian Wahl-Tuco, Economic Officer, and others. Eldina Nizamić, Regional Medical Officer, greeted the present students of the UNSA Faculty of Medicine, both study programs in Bosnian and English, expressing their satisfaction with the cooperation with the Faculty of Medicine in promoting health and the importance of a quality healthcare system in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The students presented part of the future planned activities, in the implementation of which the representatives of the American Embassy offered them support. One of the panel session participants was Prof. Ph.D. Kenan Arnautović, alumnus of the Faculty of Medicine of UNSA is building a successful career in the USA. As a continuation of cooperation with the American Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Eldina Nizamić also announced the big conference of the "UNSA Faculty of Medicine Alumni Association," which will be held as part of the Day of BHAAAS (Bosnian-Herzegovina-American Academy of Sciences and Arts) on May 23, during which the collaboration between this organization and the UNSA Faculty of Medicine will be made official and signed.
