From his native Sarajevo, where he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and specialized in neurosurgery, through many years of volunteering and being hired only during the war, even though he was second among the students of his generation—to the "American dream," this story could be shorter. In the USA, he completed a specialization in neurosurgery and subspecialization in skull base surgery under the mentorship of highly respected neurosurgeons, whose colleague he would become, and then head of the Baptist Institute for Neurosurgery in Memphis, USA. Today, he is the first among the best and most recognized neurosurgeons in the world, the vice president of the World Association of Neurosurgeons, with exceptional medical achievements, top techniques, and new methods in the field of neurosurgery.
