Sinan Alimanović International Band on December 23 in Sarajevo

The Sinan Alimanović International Band is preparing for the Sarajevo audience a unique musical bridge between Sarajevo and New York, a jazz concert, which will be held on December 23 at the Bosnian Cultural Center. It is about the concert promotion of the album Sinan Alimanović International Band, "Lejla," released in 2020, by the New York publishing house of jazz provenance, Miles High Records. Sarajevo artists Sinan Alimanović and Lejla Alimanović, on the album, recorded and published in New York, collaborate with world greats of this direction of contemporary art music, as well as multiple winners of the Grammy award. The award-winning album "Lejla" had its world radio premiere on the playlist "Excellence in Jazz" (CapRadio, California State University) and was presented in all relevant world jazz publications. At the concert in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina's jazz ambassador, Sinan Alimanović, will lead an international ensemble consisting of Harvey S. (New York), double bassist, composer, producer, and professor at the Manhattan School of Music. He was included in the family tree of jazz music through collaborations with the most important artists in the field of jazz creativity, such as Gil Evans, James Brown, Michael & Randy Brecker, Chet Baker, Tony Bennett, Kenny Barron, Sheila Jordan, Alan Broadbent, etc. There is also Alvester Garnett (New York) drummer, winner of the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Drum Competition award, who in his rich career records collaborations with capital names from the world of jazz music, such as Abbey Lincoln, Betty Carter, Clark Terry, Regina Carter, Pharoah Sanders, Roy Hargrove, Wynton Marsalis, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Dianne Reeves, Benny Goldson, and many more. Lejla Alimanović, a doctor of science in the field of the relationship between literature and music, will present the author's compositions at the concert through voice and electric piano. So far, he has collaborated with world jazz musicians, including Sinan Alimanović, Jim Mullen, Harvey S., Victor Lewis, Jed Levy, Ratko Divjak, Saša Borovec, Vladimir Kostadinović, and others. There is also Adam Klemm (Ljubljana/Novi Sad), a master's degree in the field of jazz saxophone, one of the artistic directors of the Big Band of RTV Slovenia, and a member of the artistic council of the Jazz Festival Novi Sad. So far, he has recorded collaborations with world artists, such as Gianni Basso, Ladislav Fidri, Barbara Hendricks, Nicholas Payton, Joe Lovano, Eric Alexander, Seamus Blake,... Sinan Alimanović, multiple award-winning pianist, composer, conductor, arranger, and professor, continuously promotes the BiH jazz scene at the regional and world levels through cooperation with the most relevant names from the world of jazz music. Just some of the musicians with whom Alimanović has collaborated so far are Randy Brecker, Harvie S, Duško Gojković, Ladislav Fidri, Victor Lewis, Alex Blake, Jed Levy, Bobby Sanabria, Barbara Hendricks, Petar Ugrin, Jim Mullen, Gianni Basso, Aladár Freckles, Václav Zahradnik, and many others. The Sinan Alimanović International Band concert is organized in co-production with the Bosnian Cultural Center of KS, Jazzbine Sarajevo, and the Blue Quote platform and will be realized with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of KS and the Foundation for Music, Performing, and Visual Arts.
