Dear Sir/Madam, It is with great pleasure that we inform you that the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina at today's 99th session adopted the policy on relations with emigration of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is the first document institutionalizing cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and its emigration, which is the result of cooperation between the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH and numerous other institutions in our country to improve cooperation with emigration in mutual interest. The policy represents a roadmap and an expression of the will of long-term cooperation between the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its emigration. This document defines the principles that will guide all institutions when undertaking activities and creating conditions for cooperation with emigration. The three main goals of cooperation are the development of the legal system and institutional capacities; providing support to emigration and improving cooperation, and creating conditions for a greater contribution of emigration to the development of Bosnia and Herzegovina. After the session, BiH Minister for Human Rights and Refugees Semiha Borovac emphasized that there are about two million Bosnians and Herzegovinans living in the world, not counting the so-called "old emigration." The vast majority of our immigration population is economically strong, educated, and strongly attached to the homeland of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Today's official announcement of the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the text of the adopted document, is available at http://www.mhrr.gov.ba/Saopcenja/default.aspx?id=7234&langTag=bs-BA.
