The primary goal of the symposium is to enable residents and neurosurgery specialists to meet experts, listen to their lectures, and also actively participate in professional workshops and discussions. The international neurosurgical scientific symposium "Walking the Silk Road: Neurotrauma and Functional Neurosurgery" started in Zagreb on Thursday, organized by the Southeastern European Neurosurgical Society (SeENS) and the Croatian Society for Cerebrovascular and Endovascular Surgery. The participants of the symposium were received on Friday evening in the Dverce Palace by the Mayor of Zagreb, Milan Bandić. This international scientific symposium is the second in a series of the 4th annual cycle of symposia that are held every year in the area of southeast Europe. It was designed with the idea of gathering some of the world's best neurosurgeons in Zagreb who will hold a lecture in the field of neurotrauma and functional anatomy for 120 young specialists and residents from Europe, Africa, and Asia. The lecturers are some of the most prominent neurosurgeons in the world: Prof. Kenan Arnautović and Prof. Charles Branch from the USA, Prof. Wuttipong Tirakotai from Thailand, Prof. Ihsan Solaroglu from Turkey, Prof. Lukas Rasulić from Serbia, Prof. Krešimir Rotim and Prof. . Darko Chudy from Croatia, and others. These are world experts in the field of neurosurgery who, with their knowledge, professional and scientific achievements, innovation, and activity, have changed and are still changing the world of neurosurgery. The symposium is a unique opportunity for young neurosurgeons to learn from the most experienced and best neurosurgeons in the fields of neurotrauma and functional neurosurgery.
