The International Cultural Exchange Program for Classical Musicians, a collaboration between BHAAAS and the Sarajevo Philharmonic, is back after a long pause due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The University Clinical Center Tuzla hosted the presentation of the “Knowledge Transfer from Diaspora Experts to BiH” program, implemented by the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Among the engaged experts was Prof. Dr. Eldin Karaiković, orthopedic and spinal surgeon, long-time BHAAAS member and former president.
A meeting was held at the office of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences (BHAAAS), located in the University of Sarajevo Campus, between representatives of BHAAAS and the Sarajevo Canton Government’s Office for Diaspora. The main topic of discussion was the enhancement of cooperation and institutional support for programs that connect the Bosnian-Herzegovinian diaspora with academic, scientific, and professional institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
As part of the program “Transfer of Knowledge from Diaspora Experts to Bosnia and Herzegovina”, organized by the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH, the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Sarajevo will host Prof. Dr. Adnan Begović, a specialist in intensive care and pulmonary diseases, and the current President of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences (BHAAAS).
On Saturday, October 25, 2025, the Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences (BHAAAS) organized a panel discussion titled “Synthetic Child Pornography and Violence Against Children in Online Spaces” at the Human Rights House in Banja Luka.
Bosnia and Herzegovina will soon establish its first specialized society dedicated to breast cancer—SIS Bosnia and Herzegovina, the national branch of the global organization Senological International Society (SIS)—marking a new chapter in oncology and women's healthcare in the country. SIS is a worldwide federation bringing together more than one hundred scientific and professional societies, associations, and groups from all five continents, with a core mission focused on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of breast diseases. This initiative is the result of the dedicated work of Dr. Lejla Hadžikadić Gušić, a prominent oncologic surgeon at the Levine Cancer Institute in Charlotte, USA, and a member of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences (BHAAAS).
